“Take Heart” is a non-traditional love story, told through a series of images captured during the pandemic by artists Rachael Sokolowski and Suz Karchmer. Love is conveyed through public displays of handmade hearts, crafted from everyday materials. These images embody messages of love, compassion, encouragement, and even outrage against injustice, in the midst of a time marked by crisis, conflict, and isolation. Yet, they also serve as a powerful reminder of the compassion and possibilities that surfaced during the pandemic, reflecting resilience and hope in the face of adversity.
